In der Rubrik:   Umweltschutz    Soil gas measurements of VOC Measurement of organic soil pollutants - Planning of measure-ments for the deter Guideline VDI 3865 Part 1 (Draft) Guideline VDI 3865 Part 1 specifies the principles, boundary conditions and minimum requirements for the planning of soil gas measurements. The unsaturated zone between ground surface and groundwater level is considered here, as far as this zone is accessible with drilling instruments and sampling probes. This guideline is applicable to sampling in natural, unconsolidated sediments and also in anthropogenic landfills. Three examples from practice illustrate the use of this guideline. A detailed flow chart for the interpretation of measurement results enables the user to assess their quality. Soil gas measurements make it possible to gain very rapidly a preliminary overview of the type, the main areas and the extent of pollution of soil and/or groundwater caused by volatile organic compounds.
