| Was? |  The Eighth ManagEnergy Annual Conference once again takes place in Brussels during EU Sustainable Energy Week, which runs from 9-12 February 2009.
The theme of this year's ManagEnergy Annual Conference Programme is New Opportunities for Local Energy Actors, because the 2009 ManagEnery plenary conference programme will be a ground-breaking event, covering the new paradigm for local bottom-up action for energy efficiency and combating climate change and the opportunities for local energy actors that emanate from this. The ManagEnergy plenary conference programme will feature: - New financing for local energy actors: A presentation from the European Investment Bank (EIB) on its new EUR0 20 Million Technical Assistance Facility available to cities and other local energy actors for financing energy efficiency and climate mitigation measures - Dynamic panel discussions on key issues related to effectively promoting energy efficiency and tackling climate change at the local level, including leaders from best-of-class' cities and local energy agencies - A presentation from the EC Joint Research Centre on a number of methodologies for monitoring CO2 emissions, and the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches - A presentation on the new ManagEnergy programme and services for local energy actors that will be launched by the European Commission in 2009 - The Local Energy Action Awards Ceremony, honouring good practice in local energy efficiency and renewable energy actions |
