Innovation, Technology and Employment: Impacts of
Environmental Fiscal Reforms and Other Market-Based Instruments
The conference will serve to highlight the proven advantages of environmental fiscal reform and bring together the newest research in the field.
Keynote speaker is Professor Klaus Töpfer, former Executive Director of UNEP and former German Environment Minister. Plenary speakers include Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul MdB, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany, Rae Kwon Chung, Director, Environment and Sustainable Development Division, UNESCAP, and Professor Ernst-Ulrich von Weizsäcker, Dean of Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, California, and one of the founding fathers of environmental tax reform and indeed of Green Budget Germany.
Parallel to the main conference workshop sessions, which include some of the most important academic research in the field of environmental fiscal reform from all over the world, there is a special workshop entitled "Environmental Fiscal Reform in Developing, Emerging and Transition Economies" hosted by the BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ). As well, there will be a number of NGO workshops examining issues such as campaigning and communication, and policy proposals for the future.
Conference fees are as follows:
Full conference fee (from 1st September): € 390
Reduced fee for early bookers: € 290 **
NGO representatives, Green Budget Germany members, students, accompanying persons: € 190 **
