On the GEF website you can learn more about the keynote speakers and workshops, whose registration is also now open! The Global Eco Forum is an international multistakeholders event that promotes dialogue, deep thinking and interaction, an essential meeting point for opinion leaders and agents of change towards sustainability in the Euro- Mediterranean Region. The forum, now in its fifth edition, will be held on the 25th and 26th October 2012 in an exceptional setting, La Pedrera (Barcelona).
This week has been closed the program of workshops and panel discussions in English, Spanish and Catalan. Highlights, among others, the presence of projects like The Hub Barcelona, Som Energia or the Association of Mediterranean Businesswomen (AFAEMME). They all address topics such as social innovation, the democratization of renewable energies and green female entrepreneurship. The organization has expanded the range of workshops with the participation of the Institute of Culture of the City of Barcelona (ICUB), the Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CPRAC), One Future - The Natural Step, the Office of Sustainability Professionals (DPS) and the Association of Economists of Catalonia.
Besides, you can find a list of confirmed speakers on the web (www.globalecoforum.org/en/speakers-2012.html) Hugues Ravenel (Plan Bleu), Julie Hill (Green Alliance, one of the organizations in environmental policy major UK) and Najib Saab (Secretary General of the Arab Forum Environment and Development, AFED) among others. It is also open the social network, where participants can register and participate in the thematic groups, start a discussion and interact with the rest of participants in the forum: global-ecoforum.ning.com.
